Welcome to the Geophysical Society of Pittsburgh

 

About

  • The Geophysical Society of Pittsburgh is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the science of geophysics in the Appalachian Basin.

  • We are an official section of the Society of Exploration Geophysics (SEG).

  • Monthly meetings are held from September to May on the first Tuesday at various locations around the Greater Pittsburgh area.

  • All interested parties are encouraged to attend.

What's New

  • The Geophysical Society of Houston is sponsoring a four-day online course taught by Leon Thomsen entitled "Understanding Seismic Anisotropy in Exploration. The class will be online from 10am-2pm CST from February 27-March 1, 2012. For more info, click here.
